The short answer
Chemical recycling uses chemical processes to turn some plastic waste back towards useful raw material. It is not magic and it is not an excuse to make endless rubbish.
11:00The boring questions still matter: energy, cost, contamination, scale and what the output is used for.
11:10The honest view
It may help with some hard-to-recycle plastics, but prevention, reuse and better product design still sit higher up the common-sense ladder.
11:20For caddy liners, the route is composting or food-waste collection, not plastic recycling.
